I work with technology. That has meant a lot of things over the years. Sometimes it includes music production.
I was profiled in the book “101 Businesses You Can Start On The Internet” by Dan Janal in 1995, and built one of the first 1500 web sites listed in Yahoo in 1993. I was a member of The Well and Mindvox, before Tim Berners-Lee created his first web server, and ran my first hacks in the mid-80s. Thanks Pacific Bell! So in Internet years, I am an Ancient. Along the way, I managed desktops and server rooms, built and ran content systems, put together research teams and coordinated developers. I built a method of transferring data into the former Soviet Union in 1993 as part of Kazahkstan’s efforts to open its oil resources to the West, or the West’s efforts to steal resources from undeveloped countries, depending on who you ask. Since then, I have advised a number of Fortune 100 companies on using the Internet to deliver their products and services. And isn’t the world a better place?
Prior to that, I participated in some of the first DIY and rap music productions in the 80′s and worked as a session player, sound designer, and programmer during the 90′s.
Currently I’m working on a new method for consuming news and other bits of information.
About This Site
It serves as a journal for information and media I want to share publicly as well as a way for me to selectively manage search engine indexes related to my name and works. You can find my CV on LinkedIn here or by searching for my name: Coleman Jolley.
Sometimes I experiment with the site templates and databases here, but this is mostly a low maintenance investment for me so please don’t expect any scrollability work or Flash. It renders reasonably well on all platforms and devices, including phones and iPads, and that’s all I require.
